In this talk, we will present several nonlinear partial differential equation on surfaces used for computer vision. The equations include the Beltrami flow, total variation flow, Perona-Malik flow, harmonic map and p-harmonic maps on surfaces. Finite volume will be used to discretize the equations. Some of these equations do not have uniqueness and stability under the continuous setting. We prove that the discretized equations have existence, uniqueness and continuous dependence of initial data. Some numerical experiments will be given to show the applications of these equations for processing and analysis of images on surfaces.
