摘要: In this series of lectures we will give a detailed introduction of a very powerful approach, the Liapunov – Schmidt method, in the analysis of bifurcation, structure stability, and continuation for nonlinear differential equations and dynamical systems. The topic is closely related to Liapunov – Schmidt method including the implicit function theorem in Banach spaces, space decomposition and Fredholm alternative. The application of Liapunov – Schmidt method, including the backward bifurcation in models of epidemiology, Hopf bifurcation and existence of bi-stable traveling wave solutions for reaction-diffusion systems, will be presented.
