报告内容简介:Time dependent partial differential equations (PDEs) are widely used in many areas of science and engineering, e.g. heat and mass transfer, fluid mechanics, petroleum reservoir simulation, groundwater prediction and environmental protection. Numerical computation is playing an important role in such applications in porous media. Due to the complexities and huge computational costs in long term and large scale simulation, there is particular interest indeveloping efficient splitting and domain decomposition methods. Domain decomposition methods allow a reduction of the sizes of problems by decomposing them into smaller ones which can be solved by multiple computers parallelly. The splitting method is another technique to reduce multi-dimensional problems to aseries of single dimensional problems, which provides a workable and economical method. In this talk, we will show efficient splitting and domain decomposition methods for the convection diffusion problems and the parabolic problems in porous media. Numerical experiments are given to illustrate the effective performance of the new methods.
